Business Case Study
Starting this year, as a part of Belgrade
International Games, will be held a competition in
area of solving real business case studies. In that
mean, our pleasure is to wish you a welcome to Belgrade
from October 14th, to October 18th,
year 2007.
General informations:

Case study is based upon a real business situation.

All competitors are solving and presenting case studies
in English.

Competitors are answering to jury questions in English.
-
Application deadline: September 15th, 2007.

Teams are applying, not singles. Team counts 3-4
members.
Eight teams will compete for
awards. Two days after closing applications, to all
teams who applied a virtual case study will be
forwarded, in order to decide which top 8 teams will
compete for award in Belgrade. Teams have 5 days to
complete solution, and to send Word document and
PowerPoint presentation to:

Tree days after papers are received organization
committee will make a decision on top 8 case studies.
Solving case study:
When solving case studies, teams are isolated. During a
work time, they have no right to leave hotel room, where
they are assigned. Meals will be distributed in rooms.
For every team, one computer will be provided, with all
necessary software and internet access. Teams can use
their own computers.
Time proposed for solving case studies is 32 hours.

If you want to take a part in this competition, you have
to:

Speak English very good.

Be younger than 27 years in moment of application.

Evaluation criteria:
Teams are working in conditions mentioned above. After
32 hours of work, coordinator will visit them in their
work rooms, and he will capture both word document and
PowerPoint presentation. Word document can not be longer
than 20 pages.
Power point presentation can not have more than 20
slides.
Team has 15 minutes for presenting their case. Jury can
ask questions after presentation. 10 minutes is
predicted for questions and answers.
After presenting all teams solutions, jury will make a
decision who is a winner. These are criteria for

Jury:
Jury is formed of 3 members. One of them is jury
president. Jury president can ask two questions for each
team, and other jury members can ask one question only,
for each team. One jury member will be theory-based
expert, and two other, will be practice-based experts.
Schedule:

Case study will be proposed to teams October 15th 2007
in 10 hours, AM.

Solutions will be captured by coordinator (PowerPoint
and Word document) on October 16th, at 18h.

For solving case study, creating PowerPoint and Word
document, teams have 32h.

All case study teams will present their solutions on
October 17th, in 10AM.
Detailed schedule will be declared and downloadable at
least two weeks before BIG2007 tournament opening.
Awards:
Official announcement of the winner will be held on
October 17th, at 20h, at closing ceremony in
business center „Usce“. Winners will than receive their
awards.
First place award: 800 €
Second place award: 400 €
Third place award: 200 €

Debate
1. BRIEF INTRODUCTION
1.1 The Format of the Debate
1.1.1 The debate will consist of four tams of two persons each (such persons will be known as 'members'), a chairperson (known as the 'speaker of the house' or 'Mister/Madam Speaker'), and an adjudicator or a panel of adjudicators.
1.1.2 Teams will consist of the following members: Opening Government: Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Opening Opposition: Leader of the Opposition and Deputy leader of the Opposition Closing Government: Member of the Government and Government Whip Closing Opposition: Member of the Opposition and Opposition Whip
1.1.3 Members will deliver speeches in the following order:
1. Prime Minister
2. Leader of the Opposition
3. Deputy Prime Minister
4. Deputy leader of the Opposition
5. Member of the Government
6. Member of the Opposition
7. Government Whip
8. Opposition Whip
1.2 The Motion
1.2.1 The motion should be unequivocally worded.
1.2.2 The motion should be debated in the spirit in which it was intended.
1.3 Preparation
1.3.1 The debate should commence fifteen minutes after the motion is announced. Members are permitted to use printed or written material during both preparation and the debate itself. The use of electronic equipment is prohibited.
1.4 Points of Information
1.4.1 Points of Information are questions directed to the member speaking and may only be offered between the one and six minute marks of members' speeches.
1.4.2 To ask a Point of Information, a member should stand, place one hand on his or her head, and extend the other towards the member speaking. The member may announce that they would like to ask a 'Point of Information' by the use of these words or other words to this effect.
1.4.3 The member who is speaking may accept or decline the Point of Information.
1.4.4 Points should not exceed fifteen seconds in length.
1.4.5 The speaker may ask the person offering the Point to sit down when they have had a reasonable opportunity to be heard and understood.
1.4.6 Members should attempt to answer at least two Points of Information during each speech and should also offer Points of Information during others' speeches.
1.4.7 Points of Order and Points of Personal Privilege are not permitted.
1.5 Timing of the Speeches
1.5.1 Speeches should be seven minutes in duration. Penalties may be introduced where speeches run more than 20 seconds over the seven-minute mark.
1.5.2 Points of Information may not be offered in protected time (the first and last minute of members' speeches.
1.5.3 The timekeeper shall indicate the one and six minute marks by a single strike of the gravel. The seven-minute limit shall be indicated by two strikes of the gravel. Further indication shall be given once the speaker passes the twenty-second grace period.
